  • Hocus Pocus has been a Halloween favorite since its release in 1993.

Two generations now have enjoyed Hocus Pocus as an annual tradition and since its appearance fans have wondered when the sequel to the smash hit will be made.

Last year, hopes were high that a sequel might finally be made. Rumors were swirling that Tina Fey was set to head up the next installation of Hocus Pocus, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

Later in the year, Bette Midler said via Reddit AMA that she had nothing to do with the lack of a deserving sequel.

She said, “Inundate the Disney company, because I have canvassed the girls and they are wiling to do it, but we have no say in it, so if you want a Hocus Pocus 2, ask the Walt Disney company.”

However, Bette Midler had a much more specific reason for a delayed Hocus Pocus sequel when she tweeted this:

I don’t know whether to laugh at the possible truth contained in this tweet or cry about it!

Even more recently, Midler tweeted again about Hocus Pocus:

It’s fun that she’s sharing her love of Hocus Pocus gifs with the rest of us.

Ok, the joke is funny, but surely Disney could scrape up a virgin or two and get this Hocus Pocus sequel made!

What do you think the reason is for not having a sequel yet? Have you watched Hocus Pocus this year?
