  • Google announced the launch of a new round of features for the new Google Maps.

Now, when you click on “Pegman,” which appears in the lower right corner, roads with Street View imagery will light up in blue, and when you zoom in, you’ll be able to see indoor business photos and user-uploaded pics. These are indicated by orange and blue circles respectively.

Google has also added a feature called Earth Tours, enabling users to explore 3D birds-eye imagery when the Earth Tour icon is present.

“Wherever you see the Earth Tour icon, you can click, sit back, and get a virtual tour from a soaring angle,” says product manager Kelvin Ho. This is only available in WebGL-enabled browsers.

Google has added traffic incident reports, which include data integrated from Waze to the desktop experience. Google started doing this for Android and iOS back in August.

Also, now when you search for directions, cards displaying Street View imagery will appear for each part of the route.

Last month, Google Maps added the ability to get directions for multiple destinations, reservations and upcoming events. More on those features here.
