Helen Hunt looks better than ever, and at 51 she’s really quite sexy–even in a bikini. The Mad About You actress was spotted surfing in Maui while vacationing this week. She’s fit and toned, and is likely to make most women in their 50s do a double-take and rethink their own lives and fitness routines.

The funny thing about Helen Hunt is that she doesn’t look much different than she did during her days on Mad About You–and that show, in which she starred with Paul Reiser–ended in 1999. Hunt and Reiser starred as Jamie and Paul Buchman, a young couple who dealt with everyday glitches with humor. During the last season–for which each was paid a very handsome million dollars–the couple had a baby girl they named Mabel.

In real life, Helen Hunt has a ten-year-old daughter named Makena. And if keeping up with Makena is what’s left Hunt looking so fabulous then moms everywhere are going to be seeking a copy of that mother-daughter itinerary.

While surfing in Maui, Hunt wore a tiny blue and white striped bikini. She played on the sand and in the surf with the energy of a ten-year-old.

It seems as she’s aged, Helen Hunt’s career has gotten even better, too. She received impressive accolades for her role in The Sessions in 2012, including Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actress. In 2013 and 2014 she even flexed her muscles as a director in Ride. She stars in the film, too.

“It’s getting too late in my life to care about the small things,” she said during an interview with Indiewire in 2012. “It’s getting too late to not be brave, to not live my life fully, to not try to be an artist. Trivial things like how nice your hotel room is, or if you have to be naked for a while, they fade away.”

Helen Hunt could definitely pull off being naked for a while–oh, wait–she did that already. Hunt was in fact naked in The Sessions and by many accounts was rather spectacular.

Hunt has certainly achieved many spectacular things in her career thus far. And since she’s only 51, the best may be–in fact–yet to come.
