Gwen Stefani is reportedly unhappy about sharing joint custody of her three sons with her former husband Gavin Rossdale.

“It’s like, the most unjust, unbelievable system,” Stefani reportedly told The New York Times of the recent court decision.

However, those times that she did not get to spend with her children allowed her to tap into her creative side once again and produce music for her third solo album, This is What Truth Feels Like, slated for release on March 18.

Amidst her divorce struggles and child custody issues, Gwen Stefani is thankful that music helped her cope with the changes in her life. Stefani admitted that she felt terrible upon learning of her husband’s infidelity. Rossdale, her husband of 13 years, allegedly cheated on her with their kid’s nanny.

“I have to make music out of this. That’s what God wants for me,” Stefani shared, recalling her post-breakup emotional state.

Aside from music, her co-host and now boyfriend, Blake Shelton, has also helped her tremendously.

“(He) had been going through literally the exact same thing in literally the exact same time frame,” Stefani said of Shelton. She revealed, during an interview with New York Times, that she had a hard time keeping her marital issues to herself, but Shelton could relate to what she was going through during those times.

Shelton and ex-wife Miranda Lambert divorced almost around the same time that Stefani and Rossdale called it quits.

In November, the No Doubt frontwoman’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly that Stefani and Shelton were indeed dating.

“Never in my wildest, craziest dreams would I ever have seen this coming,” Gwen Stefani said of her relationship with Shelton.

“I’m not going to say I’m not still picking up the pieces and every day isn’t a challenge,” she said. “I’m still in shock. But it’s an awesome time,” she added.
