It looks like another internet giant wants to deliver your groceries.

Google is getting into the fresh grocery delivery game, according to head of Google Express Brian Elliott.

“For a lot of our merchants that have been successful with this, we’re not representing the whole store today,” Elliott told Bloomberg. “It’s in our incentive, as well as the merchant’s incentive, for us to help customers get the full store delivered to them.”

Google Express is Google’s non-perishable delivery operation. Today, the company announced that it’s now available to 25 million more people in the midwest – Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Express offers overnight delivery from a couple dozen stores, including Ace Hardware, Barnes & Noble, Costco, Kohl’s, PetSmart, Staples, Toys “R” Us, and Walgreens.

According to Bloomberg, Google’s new grocery deliveries will come from Whole Foods and Costco, among others. The company will test it in San Francisco and another yet-to-be-named city.

Google is looking to compete with the likes of Amazon Fresh. Both grocery and restaurant delivery services are now becoming focal points of large online properties.
