One teenager’s world has been illuminated, thanks to supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Some of the most modest gestures tend to mean the most to people, and a Massachusetts teen was quite elated by the after-Christmas surprise she received this week.

On Thursday, Dec. 26, Karina Moreira received quite a shocking discovery when Bundchen arrived at her doorstep.

“I was just doing my makeup and Gisele came in and I saw her and I just said, ‘Oh my God,’ I was so shocked,” Moreira gushed.

However, this isn’t the first time the Brazilian model has taken time to visit Moreira. This is their second time meeting. The two met for the first time two years ago at Girl’s Weekend  event hosted by the Dana Farber Institute.

But, Bundchen didn’t just stop by to make an appearance. She bonded with Moreira spending quality time with her, exchanging beauty tips. The two also applied make-up on each other, and enjoyed casual conversation. “She did makeup on me, I did makeup on her. We were just interacting with each other, talking about makeup, talking about lots of other stuff,” Moreira explained.

Once the initial shock passed, Moreira took a minute to share a few of their captured moments via Instagram.

Moreira’s Instagram posts quickly garnered more than 5,000 likes collectively. Bunchen also tweeted to Moreira after the two parted.

The 15-year-old make-up artist and blogger has been battling bone cancer since 2011. According to Fox Boston, the ninth grader was in remission until recently when it was discovered that the cancer had re-surfaced in her lungs and behind her knees. The Malden, MA teen is now a patient at Dana Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.

While receiving treatment, Moreira took a great interest in beauty, spending her free time reading fashion magazine and watching YouTube make-up tutorials. She even spent time brightening the days of other hospital patients with her make-up and beauty expertise.

Moreira ultimately decided to take her knowledge and create her own website blog, Chic by Karina for others in search of beauty tips, tutorials and advice. Her website also houses a Vimeo video that chronicles her story.
