  • Gal Gadot has been officially named Wonder Woman by the guys who are bringing us “Batman Vs. Superman”.

The gorgeous “Fast and Furious 6” star was also named Miss Israel in 2004 and has the full support of director Zack Snyder as she takes on the iconic role.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,” Snyder said in a statement.

The film has already had its share of supporters and detractors, namely after Ben Affleck was named as the new Batman. It’s not clear yet how big Wonder Woman’s role will be, but no doubt the internet will have a lot to say about it. Every casting choice thus far has had fans buzzing, including ones that weren’t even really made; “Girls” star Adam Driver was allegedly offered the role of Nightwing, but he denied the rumors, much to the dismay of his fans.

Director, comic book enthusiast, and Ben Affleck supporter Kevin Smith has seen the Batman costume and says that Affleck is going to blow everyone away, despite their low expectations (he was the bomb in “Phantoms” so I’m not sure what everyone is getting worked up about).

“I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy shit!’ It’s its own thing. Even the hardest core person will be like ‘Alright, I’m ready.’ For a comic book fan it was mind-bending. I’m already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind,” he said.
