  • Over one million gamers are now enjoying next-gen games on their PlayStation 4. However, gaming experiences from past generations are still relevant, and Square Enix aims to prove it.

In addition to releasing the first five Final Fantasy games for mobile platforms, Square Enix earlier this year announced that it was close to releasing HD revamps of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for a re-release on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The titles were originally scheduled to be released sometime this winter. Today, Square announced that that the release of the HD remasters of these titles for PS3 have been pushed back until March 18. The publisher has provided no word on the Vita release of the games.

March 18 is just days before the release of the PlayStation 4 title Infamous: Second Son. March is also the launch month for other highly-anticipated games such as South Park: The Stick of Truth, Dark Souls II, and Titanfall.

Final Fantasy X HD Remaster includes all of the content from the original game updated with improved visuals. The game’s music has also gotten an upgrade, as have the game’s menus and battle interface.

Along with the release date announcement, Square Enix also released yet another trailer for the updated games. Where previous trailers have focused on the upgrades applied to the games, this one is pure nostalgia and focuses on the relationship between Tidus and Yuna throughout the two games:
