  • Feed the Children is asking people to help launch a social media campaign for National Hunger Awareness Month via its “Take Action” promotion.

People can take 10 Take 10 minutes to join and follow Feed The Children’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, give $10 to help feed children and families, and tell 10 friends.

"It is so easy to make a difference in a child’s life with the click of a mouse," said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children.

"There is no better time than National Hunger Awareness Month to show support when so many of us know someone who is struggling with the current economic conditions. It is as easy as taking 10, giving $10 and telling 10.”

Every $10 donation will provide $70 of food for families and children in need. "Feeders" will help to deliver 10 truckloads of food, essentials and Avon products to 4,000 struggling New York City families on Oct. 19 as well as provide funds for backpack distributions to homeless, U.S. students throughout the school year, and serve more than 200,000 meals a day to children in Kenya with the click of a mouse.
