  • Day seven of fashion week wrapped up yesterday and it may have been one of the best days so far. Fashion Week is an event that is held in New York City and draws in thousands of fashion designers who are anxious to show off their clothing designs. Models, actors, media, fashion fans and other big name designers all come to watch as the some of the designers send their best samples down the runway.

Michael Kors showed off his line of casual wear which includes comfortable clothes that can be worn anywhere. Although he often creates amazing designs for special occasions, he admitted that he doesn’t like to think about his designs being worn once and then hung in a closet for eternity.

“You know nothing bothers me more than someone buying something magnificent and someone wearing it once,” he said.

Nanette Lepore is another popular designer who showed off her best designs yesterday. Her designs were inspired by a laidback style and included tops, dresses and jackets with fun prints, ruffles, embellishments and hemlines.

Betsey Johnson, known for her hot and modern designs did not disappoint at fashion week. She stuck with what she does best and created a line of mini dresses that left little to the imagination. Although her designs are a little wild sometimes, celebrities like Paris Hilton and Katie Holmes seem to love them.

It appears that this year’s Fashion Week event was all about the flash and flare. Almost every designer included pieces with flashy embellishments such as sequins, fringes, neon colors or rhinestones, in their collection. With Spring just around the corner, those who attended the show or have been following these designers will be anxious to find out when their favorite pieces from the show will be available in stores.
