  • In perhaps one of the creepiest stories in the history of ever, a woman in North Carolina recently discovered her ex-boyfriend from 12 years ago hiding out in her attic, where he’d built himself a little nest complete with a rigged-up peephole.

Tracy, a single mother of five, said she was in bed one night when she heard thumping noises from above and saw that some of the nails and insulation in the ceiling were starting to fall out. At first thinking perhaps a supernatural element was to blame, she had her adult nephew go up and check it out. When he got there, he found a very real man sleeping in the heating unit.

Apparently he’d been hiding out there since being released from prison and had basically been camping out, using Sonic cups as mini bathrooms and peeping at Tracy through the air duct. Perhaps the worst part is that the only access to the attic is inside the house, in a hallway just outside of the bedrooms her sons sleep in.

β€œI want him to be charged with it,” she said. β€œIt could be somebody else he does the same thing to, but she might not be so lucky.”

She says he had written her before his release asking to get back together and claiming he was a changed man, but she’d never considered the possibility.

Unfortunately, the man got away before the police arrived on the scene, so he is still at large. He is described as a black male, 5’6″, 170 pounds.
