  • Evi Quaid, wife of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation star Randy Quaid, was arrested along with her husband and accused of leaving Canada ahead of his deportation back to the United States. It was Friday night when Randy and Evi Quaid were attempting the cross the border into Vermont, when they were arrested as “fugitives from justice.”

Randy and Evi Quaid are wanted in connection with crimes they allegedly committed in California. They were booked into state detention centers where their bail was set at $500,000 each.

On Wednesday, Randy Quaid spoke with the Associated Press, saying he wanted to “move on” with his life and resolve all of his legal issues.

It was back in 2010 when the couple fled to Canada. They claimed persecution after they were arrested for squatting in a guest house of a property they once owned in Santa Barbara. Randy Quaid was denied permanent Canadian residency in 2012. He was recently arrested in Canada because officials there feared he wouldn’t comply with an October 14th deportation order.

Randy Quaid is actor Dennis Quaid’s brother.

“I love my brother,” Dennis Quaid told People magazine back in 2011. “That’s all I can say. I love my brother and I miss my brother. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Evi Quaid was a film director when she met her husband. The two have been married since 1989.

Do you think Randy and Evi Quaid should be prosecuted or are they in need of either drug or mental health help before facing their criminal charges?
