  • Evelyn Lozada and her fiance Carl Crawford welcomed a baby boy on Saturday. Weighing in at 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches long, their bundle of joy made his appearance at 3:55 A.M. after only four pushes on Mom’s behalf. The proud Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder was by her side.

“I’m ecstatic and I thank God for this blessing!” Lozada said in a statement. “He is so handsome and I can’t wait to love all over my baby boy! My daughter Shaniece is so excited to be a big sister and Carl is elated! This has been the best day ever!”

Lozada’s daughter Shaniece is from a previous relationship. This is Carl Crawford’s first child.

“It was very quick and Evelyn is happy because she was super nervous,” her rep tells PEOPLE. “Baby boy is so handsome and she can’t wait to reveal him to the world.”

Evelyn Lozada took to Twitter just hours after her son’s birth to share their happy news.

It was just this past November when Lozada–already six months into her pregnancy–announced that she and Carl Crawford were expecting a baby.

“I’m excited about being a mommy all over again. This is something I’ve been wanting for years and I can’t believe it’s finally happening,” she said at the time.

Initially keeping her baby daddy’s identity a secret, the cat was let out of its proverbial bag over the holidays when she and Carl Crawford became engaged. Their pregnancy was celebrated in February when she was the recipient of a “diamonds and diapers” themed baby shower.

No word has escaped yet as to what Evelyn Lozada and Carl Crawford will name their baby boy.
