  • Erin Andrews is back in court–this time taking on the hotel where former Illinois insurance salesman Michael David Barrett rigged a peephole and recorded nude footage of the Fox sportscaster and Dancing With the Stars host in 2008. Barrett, who was convicted and sentenced to 30 months in jail back in 2010, tried to sell the footage to TMZ, but they refused to bite. An FBI investigation was launched when the footage showed up on the internet.

Erin Andrews feels Barrett got off easy.

“He pled guilty because the FBI had a box full of evidence, not because he is remorseful,” she said.

“Every time I check into a hotel room, I fear he is in the closet, and every time I go home, I fear he is waiting for me. I fear for my life,” she added.

In 2011, Erin Andrews sued the Nashville Marriott as well as Marriott International. A judge recently tossed out the Marriott International portion of the lawsuit.

Michael David Barrett learned from staff within the Nashville Marriott exactly which room Erin Andrews occupied, allowing him to book the room next door. The lawsuit cites infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

In light of the Erin Andrews lawsuit, a representative for for the hotel recently said, “Since the incident in question, the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt has changed management. The new management company requires and enforces a strict adherence to policies regarding guest privacy, and, as such, has implemented additional safety and privacy measures.”

The trial is expected to last about two weeks.

Do you expect Erin Andrews will win her lawsuit, and receive at least some compensation for her pain and suffering from this frightening ordeal?
