  • At just after nine a.m. today, a call came in to a fire department in New York City regarding a shooting in front of the Empire State Building. Officials haven’t released details, but the responding police officers say at least 3 or 4 people were shot and that the shooter is dead.

No word yet on the condition of the victims or the motive of the shooter.

The shooting occurred at 34th and Fifth.

We will update this article as we get more information.

    *Update*

Local news station ABC 7 is reporting that two people are dead, including the gunman, and as many as ten people are injured. 5th Avenue will be shut down for a while as police conduct an investigation, and many people who were already up on the observation deck of the Empire State Building are still there, waiting for things to calm down.

Reporters are calling it a “workplace dispute”.
