  • Elise Labott, journalist for CNN, has been suspended for two weeks following an opinionated tweet.

On Thursday, a bill passed the House making it tougher for refugees from Syria and Iraq to enter the United States and it seems Elise Labott doesn’t agree with it.

After Elise Labott tweeted her feelings about the bill, it was retweeted more than 1,000 times and liked more than 2,000 times.

Elise Labott later apologized for giving her opinion on the matter, but it was too late.

Elise Labott’s stance already had mass support.

Of course, there were also several that called Elise Labott out on her bias.

Elise Labott covers U.S. foreign policy and international affairs for CNN. However, the question arose about whether or not she has a right to voice her opinion.

What do you think? Shouldn’t Elise Labott have the basic right to express her opinion on the goings on in Washington just like the rest of us? Or do you think she should stay silent since she is a journalist?
