  • Fox & Friends announced on October 15, Wednesday, that host Elisabeth Hasslebeck will be absent from the show for two weeks. Hasslebeck reportedly underwent surgery on October 14 and will be taking time off from the program in order to recover. Although the type of surgery Hasslebeck went through wasn’t disclosed, she is reportedly “feeling good” and expects to be back on the show soon.

Co-hosts of Hasslebeck, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, made the announcement on Wednesday after calling viewers’ attention to the fact that Hasslebeck was not on the show for that episode. They also introduced the episode’s replacement for Hasslebeck, Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is usually seen on the channel’s The Five. According to TV Newser, replacements for Hasslebeck will be rotated in the course of her two-week absence.

“In case you were wondering where Elisabeth is today and this week, well, she had some surgery yesterday and she’s going to be out for a couple of weeks. But she’s doing just fine, she’s on the mend,” said Doocy on Fox & Friends.

Kimeade added a lighter note to Hasslebeck’s absence, saying, “But as you know if you watch the show, she is strong, she is tough and a better athlete than me. We heard from her last night and she said she is feeling good. So, in a short time, she’ll be back on the set.”

According to E! Online, Hasslebeck has been silent on Twitter, with her last post being on October 10. Meanwhile her last post on Instagram on October 6 was an inspirational quote: “Just because time doesn’t stand still, doesn’t mean you have to rush. Dare to stand still & see something precious.”
