  • Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to Fox & Friends on Friday, Nov. 14.

Of course, she was very grateful to get back to work given the reason for her month-long leave of absence.

For those who missed it, the former View co-host underwent surgery to have a tumor removed from her abdomen on Oct. 15.

Doctors reportedly feared the tumor was cancerous. Now, she’s opening up about that daunting time in her life, reports Fox News.

    “I had a bit of a scare,” the 37-year-old talk-show host revealed.

“I had a tumor in my abdomen,” she said. “Doctor said, ‘Look, you’ve got to get it out by the end of the month. We don’t like how it looks.’ I was facing something that potentially could have gone either way.”

She went on to share details about her “scary week” following the surgery. Although the experience was rather frightening, she confirmed that she’s okay now!

“I had a scary week where we didn’t know what the results were, but I’m OK. Everything came back OK,” she said. “Surgery’s not fun but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible in you or not, and thankfully, I had the blessing of it not being cancer.

She openly expressed her gratitude for her family, friends and the Fox network for the support she’s received during this difficult time.

“I was blessed with the peace in the week where I didn’t know what I would be facing,” she said. “I could not be more thankful for my family and my friends who’ve stuck by me with incredible support,” she said. “This entire Fox family treated me like family the entire way.

“I’m certainly not a person who takes a lot for granted,” she said, “but I certainly don’t take it for granted now.”
