  • The Duggar scandal still has not gone away. For weeks news outlets have pored over the details of the scandal, peering into the family’s history and issues.

GOP presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee has supported the Duggar family from the outset, throwing down a Facebook challenge to critics and fair weather friends alike. Huckabee declared that he and his wife would “run to the family with support.”

Then the Mike Huckabee campaign website deleted the Duggar’s pictures from the site.

Now a conservative talk show host in Iowa says he wants to ask Mike Huckabee why he supports the Duggars.

Simon Conway on radio station WHO in Des Moines, Iowa says Mike Huckabee won’t appear on his talk show for fear of being asked about the Duggar scandal.

“This is not something I want to see swept under the carpet,” Conway told his listeners. “And maybe that’s why Governor Huckabee, who came out and supported them, does not wish to come on my show right now. Maybe that’s why, I don’t know. Maybe it’s just coincidence.”

“Whatever it is, we will ultimately get to talk to him again and we will talk about this,” Conway promised.

Some have said that the Duggar family is under unfair attack simply because they are Conservatives. Other, like Sarah Palin, have drawn parallels between Josh Duggar, who molested his sisters at age 14, and Lena Dunham, who was only seven.

“There’s something wrong here,” Conway said. “And it’s not good enough to turn around and say, ‘They’re being picked on because they’re conservative and they’re Christian.’ There’s something wrong and it’s disturbing.”

Conway is also livid that the whole molestation events are being played down. Like many, he is concerned for the Duggar victims.

“That is even more horrific to me,” Conway said. “I’m struggling with that as well. They were abused. Whatever way you want to talk about it, they were abused.”
