Drea De Matteo will join the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as another delightful villain.
Drea De Matteo already has lots of street cred for being able to act tough and a little rough around the edges.
I mean, come on. A girl can’t star in The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy and not be able to pull off a dark attitude.
Drea De Matteo will take on the role of Karla Faye Gideon, who has a grudge against S.H.I.E.L.D.
Gideon will reportedly join up with Skye’s father Cal, a.k.a. Kyle MacLachlan.
The personalities of those two are bound to clash!
Drea De Matteo’s character is described as “Gifted”, while many of the characters labeled “Inhuman” will take the spotlight in season two.
Whether that means her powers are derived from a different source or is not known.
But, what is known is just how awesome Drea De Matteo is and how much butt she is sure to kick on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
With Marvel’s Daredevil series getting ready to appear on Netflix in April, some are reminded of Karla Faye Gideon’s connection to Daredevil. That’s something to keep an eye on for sure as Drea De Matteo steps into the Marvel universe.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeph Loeb said of Drea De Matteo joining the cast, “We’re thrilled to have Drea join us as yet another great villain to challenge our cast. We relished the opportunity to work with her in such a menacing role.”
