  • David Archuleta rose to fame on “American Idol” season 7 after making it to the final round and being named runner-up, but he’s taken some time from the spotlight for the past two years to do work for his church. Now, he’s back in the states and has posted a greeting to his fans.

Archuleta has been in Chile, doing missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; the singer didn’t let anyone know where exactly he was, however, as he didn’t want his fans to follow him there and disrupt his work. While there, he performed in the Mormon choir and performed at two Christmas shows which were held at the Santiago Chile Temple.

Archuleta recorded a greeting for his fans and uploaded it to YouTube once he got home to Utah, simply saying, “I’m home”. The video has been viewed over 60,000 times since Monday.
