  • Courteney Cox will reportedly be taking her behind-the-camera experience a little further pretty soon when she directs a music video for the band Kodaline.

Cox has directorial experience with her show Cougar Town–and, of course, music video experience with Bruce Springsteen and Counting Crows–and will be shooting the video on familiar turf: her own home.

The former Friends actress reportedly met the band through her fiance, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, and threw her name into the ring when she heard they were looking for someone to help them with the video. The band says they all knew who she was from the insanely popular sitcom and had a bit of trouble keeping her separate from her television persona.

“We met Courteney through Johnny when we recorded our album in LA and she is really lovely and down to earth… Because Friends is so famous we struggled not to hum the theme tune around her or call her Monica by mistake,” said singer Steve Garrigan.

Garrigan says Cox offered up her home as the location because she has the perfect scenery.

“She suggested directing a video for us and filming it and we were like ‘yeah cool’. It’s pretty random but we’re excited about the shoot in a few weeks. We’re shooting it at her house which is a beautiful home with its own beach by the sea,” he said.

The single, “Love Will Set You Free”, is due out later this year. Meanwhile, Cox and her ex-husband, David Arquette, have been in the headlines this week after Arquette married his girlfriend Christina McLarty on Sunday. The couple have one son together; Arquette and Cox have a daughter, Coco. Cox is next to walk down the aisle, and spoke recently about McDaid’s romantic proposal, which included Coco.

“They made a plan to count down from three, and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, ‘Will you marry me?’ and she was gonna say, ‘Will you marry him?’ They planned it out, they found the perfect tree, with three branches that led to one trunk–it was beautiful,” Courteney Cox said.
