  • Cissy Houston may one day she justice in the tragedy that befell her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. The only child of Cissy Houston’s daughter Whitney Houston, the conservator who filed a civil lawsuit against Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend Nick Gordon alleges Gordon caused Bobbi Kristina’s death. She has amended the recently filed multi-million dollar civil suit to read as such, too.

It was last week that Cissy Houston, Bobby Brown, Pat Houston, Tyler Perry, Dionne Warwick, and more joined together to say goodbye to Bobbi Kristina Brown. A funeral was held at the St. James Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Her body was then flown to New Jersey for burial beside her mother, Whitney Houston. Cissy Houston lives in New Jersey and will hopefully find solace in knowing she can visit both her daughter and granddaughter’s graves whenever she feels the need to do so.

What will surely bring Cissy Houston solace, however, is justice. And while no criminal charges have yet been filed against Nick Gordon, hopefully the actions on behalf of this civil suit will coax investigators to look even deeper into this case to learn what happened to Bobbi Kristina Brown.

Bobbi Kristina was discovered unconscious in a bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia townhouse back on January 31. She never regained consciousness. The civil suit conservator Bedelia Hargrove initially filed has been renamed a wrongful death suit. It alleges that Nick Gordon gave Bobbi Kristina a “toxic cocktail” that rendered her unconscious, then placed her facedown in the bathtub. He allegedly then changed his clothes. He apparently then told another woman inside the home at the time, “Now I want a pretty little white girl like you.”

“I am deeply saddened by the recent death of Bobbi Kristina Brown. I extend my sincerest condolences to all of her family. Consistent with and to the letter of the civil action I initially filed on behalf of Bobbi Kristina, we will continue to pursue justice for her,” Bobbi Kristina Brown’s conservator Bedelia C. Hargrove tells People magazine in a statement. “I have filed today an amended complaint against Nicholas Gordon adding a count for wrongful death and for pain and suffering. We will leave no stone unturned in seeking justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown.”

While these actions on behalf of Nick Gordon are beyond despicable, hopefully justice will be served–especially for Cissy Houston. No one should ever bury both a daughter and a granddaughter in their lifetime.

Cissy Houston has, of course, done both.
