  • Christina Ricci made headlines this week when fans thought she dressed up as The Addams Family matriarch, Morticia Addams. The photo of Ricci in the low cut, sexy black gown went viral.

It turns out it wasn’t Christina Ricci at all–but rather a photoshopped picture of Anjelica Huston as Morticia Addams.

Christina Ricci’s head was photoshopped onto Anjelica Huston’s body–and the plunging neckline was deepened to make her appear even more alluring.

Both Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci starred in the film version of The Addams Family, based on the 1960s TV show of the same name. Ricci played Wednesday Addams in the film and its sequel, Addams Family Values.

Although Christina Ricci enjoyed her time as a child star in The Addams Family, she believes the role stood in her way when she sought other roles in later years.

“I think that I’ve been very lucky that none of these images or impressions I’ve left on people have been bad ones really,” she said about a year ago during an interview with Parade magazine. “People love Wednesday, but I would love that character too, so I’ve never really attempted to shake any of the stuff.”

“I’ve always been very lucky to have characters that people really love. I think about some people that can’t shake really bad images and I’m glad I avoided them,” she added.

Would you have realized that wasn’t really Christina Ricci dressed up as Morticia Addams if you weren’t told it was a photoshopped picture?
