  • Chris Brown was released from a Malibu facility where he was receiving treatment for anger management, substance abuse, and issues related to bipolar disorder on Friday, but was arrested shortly afterward.

Brown had allegedly made several threats and violent comments during his stint in rehab about knowing how to use guns and knives well. He was also accused of touching a female rehab client, refusing to take drug tests, and making rude comments to rehab officials.

Brown was a successful artist until his troubles began in 2009 when he beat up his girlfriend at the time, Rihanna. The two were due to arrive at the 2009 Grammy Awards a few hours later. He pleaded guilty to felony assault and was given a sentence of five years of probation and 1,400 hours of community labor.

Although Brown apologized and admitted his wrongdoings, it was not the end of his legal troubles. His probation was revoked twice in the last year alone and he was recently arrested for getting into an altercation with a man in Washington DC. After his arrest, he entered a rehab program but was kicked out several days later after a family session ended badly.

“Mr. Brown preceded to walk outside and pick up a rock and threw it through his mother’s car window and it shattered,” a letter from the rehab facility said.

Brown was then allowed to enter the Malibu rehab facility and finished his treatment in February. The judge ordered that Brown stay in the facility until his recent assault trial is finished in April. After the assault trial, the judge had planned to make a decision on if Brown would continue his probation in jail or at the facility.

Now that Brown has been removed from the facility, it is unclear what the judge will decide. Brown will likely stay in jail until his court date in April and the judge will make a final decision on his sentencing on April 23.
