Chick-Fil-A President Pleads Guilty To Being Anti-Gay

  • For those familiar with the fast-food chain Chick-Fil-A, it may not come as a shock to find that the owners of the business have very traditional values when it comes to marriage and relationships; for as long as the restaurants have been open, they have maintained a strict policy concerning Sunday hours (they’re closed) and are pretty open about the fact that the company is faith-based in the Christian religion.

However, when Dan Cathy recently admitted to being only in support of traditional marriage, his comments caused a huge wave of backlash against the company from the LGBT community and their supporters.

“Well, guilty as charged,” he said. “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that…we know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

Later, he said, “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say ‘we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage’ and I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”

Several universities have protested the opening of restaurants on campus because of the company’s large donations to anti-gay organizations like Exodus International and the Marriage and Family Foundation, including Northeastern University.
