  • Celine Dion has decided to put her concerts and Asia tour on hold so she can help take care of her ill husband. Celine’s husband had a cancerous tumor removed from his throat last winter, and has been struggling to recover ever since.

Celine issued an apology to her fans and said,

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

Celine had planned to start her tour through Asia in November 2014, and said that the tour is on hold indefinitely, as she is not sure how long it will take her husband to recover.

“It’s been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children,” said a rep for Celine.

Celine is also having health problems and has had to cancel her concerts in Las Vegas that were scheduled to begin in July. She said that her throat muscles become inflamed and that singing makes the condition worse.

Celine felt that her fans deserved to know why she had canceled her shows and tour but asked for privacy so she could concentrate on helping her husband heal.

“Celine and family have requested that their privacy be respected at this time,” a post on her Facebook page said.

Celine and her husband Rene Angelil have been married since 1994. They have three boys, the youngest of whom are twins.
