  • With Anthony Weiner back in the headlines this week, it has come out that the former Congressman may have been sexting under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger” with a woman who claims their online transgressions went on after his resignation from Congress. Naturally, the story–published on TheDirty.com–is making the rounds on the web as a particularly hilarious part of Weinergate.

Weiner spoke recently about the woman’s claims and says that he told us all along there may be more photos and sexually explicit text messages surfacing after the initial story broke last year.

“I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me. I’ve apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward,” he said.

It’s a story fraught with the sort of steamy sex, nude photos, and political scandal that would be right at home in an old noir story, and no doubt it will be capturing our attention for the next several weeks, if not months. But as new evidence comes to light of Weiner’s transgressions, it’s a pretty safe bet that there will be more funny tidbits than steamy ones. And you’d better be prepared, so head over to Slate.com and get your new name with their Carlos Danger name generator. Jaime Distress, signing off.
