  • Cara Delevingne, who plays Margo in the movie Paper Towns, has finally decided to quit modeling. Together with her surprising announcement are incredible revelations concerning her modeling career.

Delevingne, 23, has spent six years in the modeling industry. But despite its glamour, she is convinced modeling has done more harm than good to her life.

She told The Times that her fashion work made her feel “a bit hollow.”

She said, “It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was … I felt so old.”

Her work was more than demanding, according to her. She developed psoriasis as a result of extreme stress. Because of her skin condition, other people treated her differently, to the extent of wearing gloves or not touching her, in fear of contracting psoriasis. The model admitted the crews had to cover her body with foundation.

Delevingne revealed that she hated herself and her body for a while because of the mental stress modeling had caused her.

Moreover, the Paper Towns actress described her modeling job as “horrible” and “disgusting.” She criticized the media and the fashion industry for making young girls do sexy and provocative poses.

“You start when you are really young and you do, you get subjected to … not great stuff,” observed Delevingne.

She knows that this trend will always be part of the entertainment business, but the model-turned-actress is not the type to just cry in a corner.

“I am very good at standing up for myself now, and for other people,” she said.

And just like Margo, she admitted she wanted to get revenge for the wrong that was done to her. However, Cara Delevingne believes that being happy is still the best revenge.
