Candace Cameron Bure, star of the upcoming Full House reboot Fuller House, received death threats after co-hosting The View recently.

It’s no secret that Bure is an ultra-conservative Christian, and that she openly shares her views. Her brother, former Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron, is an evangelist.

During a recent on-air argument with co-host Raven Symone, Candace Cameron Bure shared her opinion about the Oregon bakery that refused to make a lesbian couple’s wedding cake. Raven Symone became so irate with her that she wanted to end the conversation.

“I refuse to associate with you right now!” she told Candace Cameron Bure.

And that’s just fine with the Fuller House star. She understands that not everyone agrees with her conservative Christian views, but she doesn’t believe death threats are warranted.

“I just wish that we all could be respectful to one another regardless of our opinions, especially if they differ from one another,” she said during a recent interview. “I just wish people would say, ‘Good! You have your opinion and I have mine, but let’s still be nice and kind.'”

Filming for Fuller House began earlier this week, meaning it will be a while before Candace Cameron Bure appears again as co-host on The View. Hopefully the death threats cease and the actress feels safe as she reprises her role as D.J. Tanner.

She does want fans to know, however, that Fuller House isn’t simply a Full House reunion.

“It revolves around my character, D.J., who now has three kids but is widowed,” she explains. “She asks her best friend and [her sister] Stephanie to come help her raise her kids. It’s definitely a fresh take. We’re not doing the old show, it’s not a reunion. It’s a spin-off show.”
