  • Busta Rhymes made a guest appearance on stage during a performance by his protege O.T. Genasis.

The surprise cameo happened at Webster Hall in New York on Friday.

42-year-old Busta Rhymes was clearly enthusiastic about the event…perhaps a little too enthusiastic.

Rhymes bounced a little too hard while getting the crowd pumped for Genasis’s song “CoCo” and accidentally took a tumble into the audience.

In a video posted by WorldStarHipHop, you can see the embarrassing incident play out in its entirety.

It’s worth noting that Busta Rhymes was holding a bottle of liquor before he fell off stage.

Was gravity to blame, or perhaps a little too much alcohol?

In the images shared by TMZ, you can see that Busta Rhymes suffered some minor injuries as a result of his fall.

He reportedly was taken backstage to get cleaned up.

Perhaps to prevent himself from experiencing any further humiliation (or with the knowledge he wouldn’t live it down), Busta Rhymes opted not to go back on stage, reportedly staying in the audience for the rest of the show.

Later, Busta hopped on Twitter to explain what happened and to assure his fans that he was okay.

“When [you’re] passionate about winning, you go hard,” said Rhymes.

He explained that he’s very passionate about the music and sometimes when you feel passionate about your craft, things can get a little crazy.

Apparently it’s not the first time Busta Rhymes busted the wrong kind of move.

He mentions that similar problems have happened in the past to himself and other artists.

“We stay on level 10,” Rhymes said, “I love it cause we live it!”

It sounds like Busta Rhymes has no regrets about the night’s events, even though it may be some time before he lives the tumble down.

The WSMM video of Busta Rhymes falling has already accumulated 150,000 in a matter of a couple of days.
