  • Recently, TMZ caught up with Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonioli and asked him about Lolo Jones’ elimination from the competition in the first round. Tonioli did not hold back on his comments and essentially urged the former Olympian to move on with her life.

Earlier that week, Jones turned to Facebook to express her sadness over her elimination in a status that said she had been hoping to redeem herself on the show by working hard. The status went on to say that she was tired of being embarrassed. Jones and her partner Keo Motsope were eliminated from Dancing With The Stars because she had missed her cue, which sent their cha cha routine askew.

Tonioli, who is famous for his unorthodox comments on the show, thought that Jones’s reaction was “appropriate,” but also didn’t mince words. “Something went terribly wrong and she did as best as she could, but obviously, as they say, s— happens. But bless her!” he said.

The 58-year-old judge advised Jones to move on. Tonioli also discussed how it was common for slip-ups to happen on live shows and commended her for persevering despite the mess. “She took it very well. It’s a live show. Anyone that has done live performances knows that things sometimes can go wrong. She tried to cover it as best as she could, but the cast is very strong this season so, you know, it’s tough. She took it very elegantly and she behaved appropriately,” he said.

Despite expressing his sympathy for Jones, Tonioli was evidently still very pleased about the season premiere of Dancing With The Stars. “It was fabulous! Fabulous! Unmissable [sic] television!” he gushed.

Tonioli had gotten in trouble in 2011 for some reportedly uncouth comments about a dance number by Karate Kid’s Ralph Macchio and dancer Karina Smirnoff. This season, it seems that the judge has learned to be a bit more constructive with his comments.
