  • Bruce Jenner raced in the Lamborghini Series this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Bruce’s son will also be racing with him.

“I had heard about it a lot but never had the opportunity to come here,” said Bruce Jenner.

“We’re just going to go as quick as we can, try to drive smooth, I’m going to try to keep up with this guy,” said Jenner’s son..

It will be the first time this father and son pair have raced together.

When celebrities get involved with races, they seem to attract new fans to the track.

Just weeks ago Bruce had a skin cancer scare when red spots appeared on his nose. After confirming that the red spots were sun damage, he had a procedure done to remove them.

“Nobody wears sunblock back then. It’s a Basal cell carcinoma, which is a—basically it is a skin cancer, because it doesn’t heal.” “On the nose, I had a little red spot…The problem with the nose is, there’s no skin to cover it up, to cover up the hole. Then I had to go to a plastic surgeon and he does this whole procedure where he…cuts the skin off your nose and replaces it. So it’s a little bit more complicated just to fill the stupid little hole,” he said.

With the cancer scare behind him, Brenner was ready to race on Friday alongside his friend Patrick Dempsey who raced in the American Le Mans Series.

Patrick Dempsey is the star of Grey’s Anatomy and has always had an interest in racing.

“I’ve always loved cars and racing and speed,” said Dempsey.

Dempsey and his racing partner Andy Lally were able to snag 6th place in the in the Oak Tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway.
