Brittany Ishibashi has been confirmed to have joined the cast of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel.
Brittany Ishibashi will play the role of Karai, Shredder's daughter. The role was played briefly in the first movie by Minae Noji.
You may know Brittany Ishibashi from her work on Grace And Frankie, Bones and Emily Owens, M.D.. She has also been in the movies Everything Before Us and The Harvesting.
Brittany Ishibashi's character, Karai, is the leader of the Foot Clan, but in the original comics, she held an even higher position than Shredder, her adoptive father. In addition to that, Karai would sometimes team up with the Turtles against her father.
It is not clear whether Brittany Ishibashi's character will help or hurt the Turtles in this sequel.
Michael Bay returns as a producer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Dave Green, of Earth to Echo fame, will be onboard to direct the second movie and Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec, who wrote the script for the first movie, also wrote the second script.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, with the addition of Brittany Ishibashi, will see many stars return to their roles in the first movie.
Will Arnett will return as Vernon Fenwick, William Fichtner will return as Eric Sacks, and of course Megan Fox will be back as April O'Neil.
Also starring in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will be Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee will step in as the new Shredder, Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, and Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has already started filming and has a release date of June 3, 2016.
