Bobby Brown spent some time on Father’s Day with his previously estranged daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, his child with the late Whitney Houston. Bobbi Kristina is Brown’s only child and it seems some hugs on Father’s Day melted away a lot of the angst the two experienced during the past couple of years. This must have been a huge relief for both father and daughter. Since Whitney’s passing life has been stressful for Bobbi Kristina and even though Bobby Brown got married recently he still likely felt an empty place in his heart with the absence of his daughter.

Bobbi Kristina, who claims to be married to Nick Gordon–the young man Whitney Houston raised as her own–posted about her reunion with her dad on social media–sharing photos on Instagram.

This first one, captioned “I got a running start! Love you Daddy,” shows the excitement each felt when they met for the first time in a long while on Sunday.

It was back in January that Bobbi Kristina told the world via social media that she and Nick Gordon had gotten married. Just a couple of weeks ago Bobby Brown spoke about his daughter and Nick Gordon during an interview, but he spoke about Bobbi Kristina as though she hadn’t yet tied the knot.

“She’s doing wonderful,” Brown, 45, said of Bobbi Kristina. “We’re going to spend Father’s Day together, which I’m so grateful for… and I can’t wait to get there.”

He was asked if he would tell Bobbi Kristina to hold off on marriage should he be given the opportunity to do so or if he might suggest she wait a while before getting married.

“I wouldn’t do that,” Brown replied. “She makes a lot of great decisions. Her mother was very smart and she raised her very well. So I really don’t trip or worry about her as much as people want to make it seem, you know? Like ‘She’s in danger.’ No, she’s not. She’s a very bright, young, and beautiful young girl.”

This certainly makes it sound like Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon aren’t yet married. But who knows? At least Bobbi Kristina had a nice reunion with her dad and Bobby Brown had a happy Father’s Day. The media can speculate on the details. As of Sunday, spending time as a father and a daughter was all that mattered to these two.
