Bobbi Kristina Brown has remained in a medically induced coma since she was found unresponsive in her bathtub on January 31st.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family has remained hopeful that perhaps a miracle could bring her back to the way she was.
Despite things looking bleak for Bobbi Kristina Brown, they have faith.
“There will be a sign of hope, and then nothing,” a family source told People. “Every day, we wonder if this will be the day that we get good news.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown might get a chance to give her family good news soon.
Doctors have weaned Bobbi Kristina Brown off of the medications that keep her in the coma.
“We’re all hoping and praying that this will give us some answers,” says the family source. The source then added that Bobbi Kristina Brown’s health is still “severe.”
What does a move like this mean?
Subhashini Ramesh, a professor of NeuroCritical Care at Georgia Regents University, makes it clearer.
He said, “They take them off a medically induced coma for two reasons: because the underlying problem has improved, or to simply get a sense of what the patient is able to do for themselves.”
While we don’t know the doctors’ reasons for weaning Bobbi Kristina Brown off of her coma meds, there is a positive way to look at it, according to Dr. Ramesh.
He points out, “Obviously, she did not meet the criteria for brain death if she underwent a tracheostomy,” Dr. Ramesh says of her surgery last week. “She still could have a devastating injury, though.”
While all of these things are going on with Bobbi Kristina Brown, the family is admittedly trying to ignore the drama that is going on with Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend.
Despite mounting social media pleas, Bobby Brown will still not allow him in to see Bobbi Kristina.

However, Brown said through his lawyers that he offered him a chance and he didn’t take it. He said, “Let me be very clear, Mr. Gordon was offered an opportunity to potentially visit Bobbi Kristina and he declined to meet the terms of any possible visit.”

The statement continued, “Obviously Mr. Gordon is not as desperate to visit Bobbi Kristina as he wants the world to believe.”
