Bobbi Kristina Brown still lies in a medically-induced coma, but as her close family holds constant vigil at her bedside, other members of both sides of her family continue to give out conflicting information.
This information starts rumors about Bobbi Krisitna’s condition, like how the family was going to take her off of life support on the anniversary of her mother, Whitney Houston’s, death. Or that she is improving and opening her eyes.
Not to mention the rumors swirling around Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, and his alleged involvement in what happened.
Now, Bobby Brown is trying to put a stop to the media circus.
He released a statement through his lawyer telling the world to ignore these family members that freely give interviews.
The statement, from Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, legal counsel for Bobbi Kristina’s father Bobby Brown, read, “At this time it is requested that the media cease speaking with unauthorized members of the family. The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina.”
The statement went on to say, “None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them.”
Hmmm. That makes it seem like certain members of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family could be riding the coattails of her tragedy for their own 15 minutes.
The statement goes on to name Jerod Brown in particular, who claimed in interviews recently to be in touch with Nick Gordon and to be a go-between between him and Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family. He has also placed himself in the spotlight by posting things about Bobbi Kristina Brown on his Facebook page and has organized a prayer vigil for Bobbi Kristina, which might be one of the events that Brown’s lawyers referred to as a “side show”.
It read, “In particular, Jerod Brown aka Jerod Carter aka YF Kennedy, continues to makes statements and appear on television, however, he has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family. He must be disregarded. Please do not attend any ‘meet and greet’ organized by Jerod Brown as he is unable to provide access to Bobbi Kristina or information on her condition. This is a criminal investigation and we do not need this side show.”
Ouch. If Bobby Brown’s lawyers are to be believed, then anything reported in the days following the discovery of Bobbi Kristina unresponsive in her bathtub on January 31st remains uncredible.
Bobby Brown added his own words to the statement, but still refuses to give an update on Bobbi Kristina’s condition.
He said, “We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supports Bobbi Kristina and God is hearing our prayers.”
