  • Over at the Bethesda Blog, Bethesda has released a handful of new screenshots for the highly-anticipated Dishonored. In Dishonored, players take on the role of an assassin framed for the murder of an empress. Players will take on assassination jobs and use stealth, brute force, or supernatural powers to complete their work in whatever way they choose. More important than all of that, the game has a techno-steampunk setting that looks amazing. Check out the screenshots below to get a feel for the game’s atmosphere, and watch the teaser trailer for the game.

As the screenshot above attests, Dishonored will deal with some very adult themes. Below, lightning-fueled mounted police threaten the player:

There is a plague going around in the game’s fictional city, Dunwall, so you are not going to want to go for a swim in its canals:

The game allows players to choose how they want to complete their missions. Players can be stealthy, use supernatural powers, or run in Halo-style with grenades. The game’s supernatural powers include stopping time, teleportation, and possessing animals such as rats.

As you can see, the artwork in the game eschews Skyrim-like realism in favor of a more stylistic approach. This is probably a good call, considering all of the human-killing that will take place in the game. What do you think? Are you excited for Dishonored? Leave a comment below and let me know.
