  • Bad Grandpa topped the box office this weekend with $32 million in its first three days. The film made $12.6 million on Friday alone. It should finish with $70-80 million total.

In the film, Johnny Knoxville is disguised as an elderly man and teams up with a cute little boy. The pair play pranks and get into mischief throughout the film and find themselves is some hilarious situations.

Jackass fans will enjoy similar skits and pranks but they may miss the rest of the Jackass crew. Bad Grandpa opened below 2010′s Jackass 3-D, but it did manage to beat the other two Jackass films.

Bad Grandpa competed against several other top ranking films this weekend including Carrie which brought in only $5.9 million in its second weekend in theaters and Captain Phillips, which brought in $11.8 million during its third weekend.

The top 5 movies in theaters this weekend are as follows:

    1. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa – $32 million

    3. Captain Phillips – $11.8 million
    4. The Counselor – $8 million
    5. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 – $6.1 million

Bad Grandpa is expected to remain strong throughout the next few weeks and continue to top the charts, while Gravity, Captain Phillips and Carrie are on their way down and will likely fall of the top 5 chart after next weekend.
