  • As promised, Ubisoft today released the first story DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Titled Freedom Cry!, the content features a new character with his own story set during the “golden age” of piracy in the West Indies.

    Players will step into the shoes of Adéwale, the first mate of the Jackdaw seen in the Black Flag campaign. As a former slave, Adéwale will have the opportunity to put his assassin’s skills to use freeing slaves from ships and plantations with the help of Maroon warriors on the island of St. Domingue.

    As Adéwale players will also have access to a variety of new abilities. The character’s assassination’s are more physical than Edward Kenway’s, and Adéwale also uses powerful weapons such as a machete and a blunderbuss.

    All of this is previewed in the launch trailer for the game that was released this week. The video shows Adéwale as a freedom fighter, Assassin, and pirate all in one:
