  • Anna Faris, in an interview with Redbook magazine, opened up about what it was like to go into labor nine weeks before she was due to give birth to her son, Jack.

Anna Faris wasn’t planning on going into labor at only seven months pregnant, of course.

But when her water broke unexpectedly, they acted quickly.

“My water broke in the middle of the night at seven months,” Faris, 38, said. “We rushed to the hospital and they were able to halt active labor with magnesium.”

Anna Faris was put on bed rest and prepared to spend the next four weeks in bed. But, Jack had different plans.

Just seven days later, she went into labor again.

Anna Faris said of the experience, “I was in denial. For hours I was like, ‘I’m just having indigestion.’”

This time, it couldn’t be stopped. Jack was coming, ready or not.

Going into premature labor is scary for anyone, no matter who you are, and this was true of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt.

“Chris and I were so scared, but then Jack came out and, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us.”

Jack had to spend the first month of his life in the neonatal intensive care unit, but some good came out of that trying month.

“It’s one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer,” Anna Faris explains. “I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He’s a great dad. He’s a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand — you really have to become an adult.”

Chris Pratt once said that the whole ordeal restored their faith in God.

“We were scared for a long time,” Pratt, 35, said. “We prayed a lot.”

He added, “It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it. The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect.”

What an amazing thing to bring Anna Faris and Chris Pratt closer together. What do you think of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt’s experience?
