  • Amy Adams is the talk of Twitter today as SAG Award nominees are announced, and not because she’s on the list; rather, most feel she was unfairly left off after her highly-touted turn in “The Master”.

However, she has earned another prestigious award: the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Cinema Vanguard Award, which will be presented to her on January 31st in L.A.

“Amy Adams is one of the gutsiest and most gifted actors working today,” said SBIFF’s executive director, Roger Durling. “She embodies what the Cinema Vanguard Award is all about, and after her performance in ‘The Master’ the time has come to recognize her talent and versatility.”

As for the SAG Awards, the nominees for Best Supporting Actress are:

Sally Field / Mary Todd Lincoln – “LINCOLN”
Anne Hathaway / Fantine – “LES MISÉRABLES”
Helen Hunt / Cheryl – “THE SESSIONS”
Nicole Kidman / Charlotte Bless – “THE PAPERBOY”
Maggie Smith / Muriel Donnelly – “THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL”
