  • Actress Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s wife faces a possible 10-year term after allegedly smuggling two yorkshire terriers in Australia and falsified her passenger arrival card to conceal the dogs.

Heard’s dogs, Pistol and Boo, arrived on Johnny Depp’s private jet last April in Australia where the actor is filming the fifth movie for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce, after finding out about the dogs, told the media that that he would be giving Heard and Depp a 48-hour deadline to remove the dogs or the dogs will be euthanized.

Depp then chartered a private jet to return Heard’s dogs to the United States.

Even though Heard was able to remove the dogs out of the country, she still faces two charges for illegal importation of an animal and one count of falsifying a document, a breached of the Australian Quarantine Act.

Amber Heard was supposed to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today but her lawyers appeared on her behalf.

Heard attended Italy’s Venice Film Festival on the weekend, to support Johnny Depp who was was promoting his new film Black Mass .

Heard’s lawyers were able to obtain a two-month adjournment on the case. But Heard was ordered to appear on November 2 to face the same case.

Meanwhile, Depp jokingly commented on the issue but without mentioning Minister Joyce’s name.

“I killed my dogs and ate them, under direct orders of some kind of, I don’t know, sweaty, big-gutted man from Australia,” Depp said.

However Joyce said that what Amber Heard did was serious.

“If we start letting movie stars even though they’ve been voted the sexiest man alive twice to come into our nation, then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?” Joyce asked.

Well, for all the stars out there, make sure you declare your pets when going out of the country, you never know what law you’re breaking!
