  • Amber Heard, 27, and her 50-year-old alleged fiancé, Johnny Depp, stepped onto the red carpet on Wednesday for the premiere of Heard’s new movie, 3 Days to Kill, an action flick co-starring Kevin Costner.

The couple’s blatant PDA at the Arclight Theatre in Los Angeles was palpable, with Heard’s blinding engagement ring in full view. The star had, until recently, been very coy about her new jewelry, seemingly keeping the rock out of the spotlight. But on Wednesday night the notoriously private couple were anything but shy, holding hands and kissing in full view, as well as Heard displaying her diamond proudly on her ring finger.

One source told Us Weekly, “The proposal happened a while ago. She just didn’t wear the ring.”

Just before the screening, Depp and Heard shared a kiss before heading into the theatre, something they normally don’t do. Us Weekly called Depp’s peck on Heard’s cheek, “very sweet and gentle.”

The onlooker added, “They definitely seem like a happy couple — he stared at her with a very proud look on his face and she tossed him some sassy smiles.”

Heard’s costar in the film, Kevin Costner, told People, “We can’t get in the way of love. And that’s what they found. How lucky for them!”

Heard and Depp met on the set of their 2011 film, The Rum Diary, but did not become an item until 2012, when Depp ended his relationship with Vanessa Paradis. While Depp and Paradis never married, the two were together for a span of 14 years and share two children, Lily-Rose and Jack.

At a Beverly Hills press conference on Tuesday for the film, Heard explained why she seems to always choose roles in thrillers and action-type films, saying, “I always prefer to shoot the gun than wear a wedding dress. It’s far more interesting to me.”

In 3 Days to Kill, Heard plays Vivi Delay, a racy FBI agent, opposite Costner and Hailee Steinfeld.

Costner described Heard’s work on the set as very professional, saying, “She was great. She had a very exotic role. She’s a person who has herself together. Playing an outlandish character – it was not easy for her to find her footing. But we did our job as actors, which was trying to look out for each other.”

3 Days to Kill will hit theaters across the country on February 21st; the film had originally planned to open this Friday, Valentine’s Day, but was later pushed back a week.
