  • Amanda Knox and her former lover, Raffaele Sollecito, are looking to get their side of the story heard about the murder of Meredith Kercher by way of two separate memoirs; Sollecito’s book, “Honor Bound”, will be released on September 18th. Knox has signed a book deal with HarperCollins for a reported $4 million; it’s due out next year.

With the news of two new accounts of what happened in the little Perugia apartment Knox shared with Kercher comes a great deal of curiosity, trepidation, and a sense of unease. Since Knox and Sollecito were released from prison last year after serving a four-year sentence–their conviction was overturned–little has been known about the two. Knox moved back to Seattle with her family, but Sollecito has kept a low-profile.

According to early reports, Sollecito is still maintaining their innocence in his book, although he does admit that Knox’s behavior was strange right after they were arrested and ultimately led to a glare of suspicion being cast upon them by Italian officials. For now, that suspicion has turned to Rudy Guede, a small-time criminal who was convicted separately and is still imprisoned. The belief is that he killed Kercher during a botched robbery, although he claims he witnessed a stranger with a knife standing over Kercher’s body.

The haunting truth is, we may never know what really happened, as even with two memoirs, the events that transpired that day will forever remain between Knox, Sollecito, and Kercher.
