Amanda Bynes celebrated her birthday this week by tweeting pictures of her vacation to Mexico in a bikini. In the pictures it was clear to see the progress that has continued for the former actress as she left rehab and joined fashion school.

Last year, Bynes had been placed in an involuntary lockdown in a mental institution after lighting a fire in her driveway. Her stay was commuted to drug rehabilitation. The actress left rehab in December to continue treatment at her family’s home. Her mother’s attorney had told People magazine she wished to go back to college with “the intention of majoring in fashion design.”

Fashion school continues to be a priority for Bynes. “If she was offered an acting job anytime soon, she may not take it because she’s so focused on school,” a source told E! news. Rehab has done well for the actress, the source added, “Amanda’s really talented at what she does so the picture is the real deal. She’s only just beginning.”

Bynes re-joined Twitter in March, after deleting many of her previous tweets, with a message to her fans:

She also posted confirmation that @amandabynes was her only twitter handle:

On April 1st, Bynes and her family went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate Spring Break and the actress’s birthday, Us Magazine reported. Bynes turned 28 on Thursday.
