  • Amanda Bynes made headlines over and over last year and in 2013, when she seemed to be having a very public breakdown and her bizarre, worrisome behavior led to more than one arrest and some time in a psychiatric facility. Now, however, her lawyer says she has re-enrolled in school after leaving last year and is on the way back to a normal life.

“We are all so proud of her, and can’t wait to see her amazing designs on the runway someday,” Tamar Arminak said.

Bynes attends the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing in Los Angeles and was reportedly happy there when she first enrolled, but left class in 2014 amid rumors she had been kicked out for her behavior. However, a source says she left after having surgical procedures that made her want to stay out of the spotlight for a while.

“She had all plans to finish school, but she had a few procedures done and didn’t want to be in public at FIDM. She hated going to school,” the source told People.

Bynes drew millions of Twitter followers last year when she began posting messages to other celebrities and to her own family, calling them ugly and critiquing their talents. She was also caught on tape making threats to kill her parents, and since then has kept a pretty low profile regarding social media. She did make a rare appearance at the SOAR Gala this summer, where she shared photos with designer Michael Costello.

“She was 100 percent in good spirits — she’s just a sweetheart. She had a wonderful time. Amanda supports the cause as well, so she came out with Michael for the evening and she was in great spirits. She enjoyed the evening with us and looked beautiful in her gown,” said event organizer Kat Minassi.
