  • Alicia Vikander wowed fans this weekend at the Venice Film Festival where the film in which she stars alongside Eddie RedmayneThe Danish Girl–opened to a standing ovation.

Looking a bit like a regal peasant in her cream-colored gown with substantial embroidery, Alicia Vikander showed off her gorgeous figured despite the non-Hollywood attire. At the very least, the gown accentuated her tiny waistline and its v-neck highlighted her cleavage. This gown might have been the laughing stock of premiere fashion had Alicia Vikander worn it in Hollywood, however.

Posing for photos alongside cast mates Eddie Redmayne, Amber Heard, and Matthias Schoenaerts–along with director Tom Hooper, Alicia Vikander–while naturally beautiful–looked like the little girl on the Swiss Miss commercials of old.

Despite her look for the film’s premiere, Alicia Vikander is already receiving rave reviews for her role in The Danish Girl.

“The surprise of The Danish Girl is that it’s as much Vikander’s showcase as it is Redmayne’s,” Variety’s Guy Lodge wrote in his piece about the film.

“Toggling sensuality and sensitivity, with a latent streak of anger throughout, Vikander plays her half beautifully… it’s the stuff that best actress campaigns are built upon.”

Many have already speculated Eddie Redmayne could be up for yet another Oscar win with his role in The Danish Girl. Might Alicia Vikander be up for a supporting actress nod as well?

Will you be checking out both Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander when The Danish Girl hits U.S. theaters in November?

And will someone please tell the actress not to wear that dress at any U.S. premieres?
