  • Zooey Deschanel is expecting her first child with Jacob Pechenik, but there’s another guy who is happy to talk about her impending foray into motherhood. Zooey’s New Girl costar Jake Johnson chatted recently with E! News about the overwhelming excitement in the air.

“I’m excited for her. We’re really excited,” Johnson said at the Fox All-Star party at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour. “She and Jacob are so excited and I couldn’t be happier for Zooey.”

“She’s a good friend and this is an awesome thing in her life. I think she’s going to be a great mom,” he added.

Fans are forewarned, however, about hoping that Zooey Deschanel’s pregnancy gets written into the New Girl story line, because it won’t.

“No, Jess (Deschanel’s character on the show) is not going to have a baby,” Jake Johnson said.

“It’d be a weird Three Men and a Baby vibeā€¦just imagine how weird Winston would be around that baby!” he joked shortly thereafter.

In addition to making a baby, Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik are also working on her film together. Called Rock the Kasbah, it also stars Kate Hudson, Shia LeBeouf. and Bruce Willis. Pechenik serves as one of the film’s producers. In post-production, Rock the Kasbah is set to hit theaters nationwide in April.

Zooey Deschanel isn’t the only one celebrating a pregnancy in her family either. Sister Emily Deschanel, who stars in Bones, is expecting her second baby with husband David Hornsby.

Fans can check out Zooey Deschanel–sans any sort of baby bump–when New Girl returns to Fox on February 3rd.
