This is a peer review of Inf-inet.com by Kent of www.discount-leather.net.

I took a look at the site and here are a few comments from a web site, e-commerce quasi neophyte that has made more mistakes than I want to talk about.

1. Copy: It is not compelling. I do not see anything in your copy on any of the pages that says “I’m missing out if I don’t use this service”

2. Free Download Small Business Plan: FREE??? It is nothing more than an advertisement for the inf-inet service. While it does have some merits, it is too jargon-filled for the novice internet ecommerce person, i.e. if you know how to answer questions about Search Engine Placement or Pay Per Click advertising, they probably don’t need your service. It appears that the target market isn’t clearly defined.

3. I didn’t find the navigation hard, but I didn’t find any compelling reason to use the hosting or design services. As a window shopper, I found the hosting rates and services to be a bit pricey.

4. Only one testimonial? I think this again says “We haven’t defined our target market.”

5. I looked at two of the sites that were designed by this site in the portfolio section. UH-OH! The site with women’s clothes, Stylishgirls.com had some problems, not necessarily inf-inet’s problems, but not something I would want to display as mine. For instance, I clicked on the first menu, Shop by Outfit and hit weekend/casual, but only got a coming soon message. Then I clicked on Shop by Category, Jackets. Then I clicked on the Cotton Stretch Beige Jacket, listed at $253 with a buy now button, but no details about the jacket, even though there is lots of room for a description. In order to find details, another click was needed. Too many clicks. Photographs were not real good either with no detail.

I also checked out the Cumberland Bikes and Trikes site. I’m not a big fan of gateway pages which this looked like. I also noted that no text links going into the site, only graphic links which is pretty bad for SEO. I didn’t go any further. I must say, I like the graphics and the color scheme on the front page.

6. I looked at the “Worth Reading” Pages. Nice compilation of internet business articles. If it was me, at the end of each article I would put in a paragraph or two on how inf-inet overcomes these obsticles. This would give compelling reason to use your services.

I guess in my opinion, this site is not focused. Who is the customer? The Primary Target? Why should my primary target use me? To design a site? Launch an e-commerce site? Host a site? Have someone tweek my keywords and such for SEO? Then you give the option of designing your own site through SiteStudio. If I can design my own site, why use the services?

My advice: Focus on who the target audience is. Make the site geared for that audience. Want to sell other things, like hosting or Site Services? Make a new site and get a new domain for each business.
